Dr Gauld - v. v. knowledgeable, caring and explained everything as he was doing it - i.e what he was listening for and what that does/doesn't indicate. Put my mind at rest as usual :-) very understanding.

Accompanied my daughter and was very impressed with the thoroughness shown. Exceptional manner, relaxed but informative. Plus a sense of humor!

Receptionists are excellent, helpful and considerate and do the best they can in what is a broken surgery. The practice has no full time doctors and last week they had to call in a doctor from Somerton to write prescriptions. Its almost impossible to see a doctor or even get a phone call and you can never see the same person so it's very difficult to build a relationship with them.I have no confidence in the medical staff except the nurses, who work there and I can see the powers that be close our surgery and make patients go to either Somerton or Yeovil for treatment.

The reception staff and nurses are extremely helpful, efficient and friendly. In my oplnlon they do a fantastic job under extreme duress. However when it comes to the medical side of the practice I feel it's in total disarray.Last week there were no doctors on duty whatsoever and they had to call in a locum doctor to write prescriptions.I don't think they have any full time doctors at the surgery and share practitioners with the surgery in Somerton. This is totally unacceptable but staff shortages caused by long hours and people not wanting to join the profession plus Government cuts are destroying the N.H.S! I think the surgery in Ilchester will close before long and folk will have to travel to either Somerton or Yeovil.Lives inevitably will be more at risk, not to mention the many impracticalities, especially for the old and disabled.
